February 28, 1994

Dear Colleagues,

We have had open collaboration meetings with our European counterparts in early February, followed by the DPF Workshop at Fermilab. Time now presses if we are to organize ourselves such as to define our work in FY95, and the level of support required to sustain that work. Accordingly, let us meet together on March 23 at Fermilab as a first step on the road towards a US/CMS proto-collaboration. Please try to attend and contribute your ideas as to which activities you might participate in.

There will be parallel sessions on Calorimetry, Triggers, and other areas of interest to new groups just now joining CMS. The discussions will center on the RD efforts at CERN and the methods to join in the CMS Design Report. This meeting is intended to be CMS specific. Please contact me (FNALV::DGREEN) or Wesley Smith (WISHEP::WSMITH) with agenda items in calorimetry and triggers respectively. If your group has joined or intends to join CMS, please let me know so that I can adjust the E-mail lists accordingly.

Cheers,

Dan Green
