HOTEL (incl. driving directions): ================================== We have reserved blocks of rooms in the Inn on the Park, which has an indoor pool, 2 restaurants, is at the State Capitol and a 20' walk to the physics department. Rates for Standard (Deluxe) are $67 ($76) single and $85 Deluxe double per night, not including state and local tax. If you are going to fly in and out of Madison and not drive to Fermilab, then we recommend not renting a car and instead taking a taxi or using the Hotel shuttle service. To get to the Hotel by car follow the directions above to the Madison Beltline. However, exit at John Nolen Drive. Stay on John Nolen Drive until you cross the water and pass the Lake Street turnoff on your left. Take the next left turnoff, Broom St. Follow Broom St. past Wilson, Doty, and Main. Turn right on Washington St. Follow Washington Street up to the State Capitol past Henry and Fairchild and turn right on Carroll (Street next to Capitol). Turn into the parking ramp of the Inn on the Park near the end of the block on your right. You can leave your car there while you check in. The Hotel is a stone's throw from the State Capitol, which is visible from everywhere. (The directions above are designed to pass you through all the one-way streets). Please tell them you are with the "_CMS MEETING_". Initially, the rooms will not be held for reservation past 12 March. WEATHER: The weather in Madison in April is erratic. It could be near freezing; there could even be a late snowstorm. On the other hand, the weather could also be in the 60s (around 17C). It might rain, or the sun might shine. Be prepared!
